STORY OF A SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT: OLTON ISD

I happen to be from a small West Texas town. Growing up in such a lifestyle has taught me many things..... One of the best things about being in the Olton School District, is that Olton not only has the low taxes, low living expenses, and low housing costs of most rural West Texas towns, but has the pluses associated with being a bedroom community for nearby Lubbock, Texas - a relatively short 45-50 minute commute away with close to 275,000 in population, Colleges and Universities? Wayland Baptist University, LCU, Eastern New Mexico State University, South Plains College, and Tier 1 Texas Tech are a short drive away. After moving here, one quickly discovers that this is a town and a school district that have both purpose and pride - an ideal environment for raising and educating your children.
